BOLTON boxers were celebrating a hat-trick of victories in Sheffield when Haroon Khan and Rick Godding joined headline act Amir Khan in winning on points.

Twenty-one-year-old Khan was making his professional debut on the undercard in a four-round super-flyweight bout with a change of opponent seeing Fenton’s Brett Fidoe replace Bulgarian Stefan Slavchev.

And, like his elder sibling who he has labelled his idol, the 2010 Commonwealth bronze medallist was quick to get on the front foot proving he has the ability follow in Amir’s footsteps.

He regularly had Fidoe back-pedalling, often into the ropes, as he won every round in the opinion of the match referee with some explosive attacks to record a 40-37 points triumph.

Joining the Khans in a glory day for Bolton was Blackrod welterweight Godding who extended his unbeaten record to 19 wins and one draw in the first fight of a packed undercard.

It was a tough test for the 28-year-old on his second big arena night, but he again showed his title-challenging credentials by beating former Commonwealth champion Bradley Pryce 58-56 after a hard-fought six rounds.
