BOLTON boxer Danny Watson recorded a third straight professional victory against experienced Rick Boulter in Wythenshawe.

The 30-year-old welterweight scored a points triumph after winning all four rounds and is yet to lose a round in his professional career.

Watson, who trains at the Elite Gym in Halliwell, was unlucky not to get the knockout after having Boulter in trouble several times last weekend.

Elite coach Alex Matvienko said of the Bromley Cross boxer, who is originally from Little Lever: “This is another impressive win for Danny, showing he has more than one aspect to his game.

“There is definitely more to come.

“Now that he moves up the rankings the fights will get harder but we are all extremely confident he has what it takes to win a title.”

Another Elite pro, light-middleweight Chris Jenkinson, was unlucky to lose on points in his latest bout in Gloucester on Saturday.

After upsetting Nicky Jenman last time out with a seventh-round stoppage in February, the 29-year-old was beaten by Lewis van Poetsch in the four-round clash.

He next fights in Blackpool on June 7 on the same bill as his welterweight twin brother Simon.

Tonight, heavyweight Paul Drago, Stevie Taylor and Ali Shah represent Elite Gym on the same show at Colne Municipal.

Shah is fighting for the first time for Elite, while Drago and Taylor will look to extend their unbeaten records of two and three wins respectively.
