CASTLE Hill ABC twins Simon and Chris Jenkinson will have home advantage when they fight for North West Counties championship belts on Thursday night.
The brothers will feature on a 10-bout bill, hosted by the Castle Hill club at Tonge Ward Labour Club in Ainsworth Road.
Simon takes on Mark Heffron of Northside over three, three-minute rounds at 67kilos while Chris meets Matthew Ryan (Middleton Select) for the 59k belt.
Their team-mate Raiza Ali will take on Jack Catterall of Chorley ABC over four two-minute rounds at 57k — one of three junior box-off bouts from which the Great Britain and England selectors will decide who competes in this year’s world and Commonwealth youth championships.
In the two other box-off bouts two members of Egans ABC of Manchester will go head to head at 67k while at 81k John Newell of Shannon and Ancoats meets D Linnerhan of the Viking club on the Isle of Man.
Also on the Tonge Ward bill will be Castle Hill’s Ben Broadbeant in a return bout against Liam Rowbotham (Positive Impact, Bolton). Castle Hill’s Kieran Briscoe takes on S Khan (Positive Impact), Lewis Cook (Bolton Lads’ and Girls’ Club) fights Y Hussain (Olympic Power Mill, Bury), M Britten (Olympic Power Mill) meets D Goowin (Darn Hill and Heywood) and E Mostyn (New Bury and Farnworth) fights D Price (Olympic Power Mill).
Admission is £10, doors open at 7pm and boxing starts at 8pm.
