SCOTT Quigg will have to do it all again to prove he is Britain's best super bantamweight.
The Bury star's big fight with Rendall Munroe was ended prematurely in the third round on Saturday night and judged to be a technical draw after an accidental clash of heads resulted in Leicester's Munroe unable to continue.
The clash was the biggest fight in 23-year-old pride of Bury Quigg's career, and would decide who held the interim WBA super-bantamweight title.
Quigg was the up-and-coming contender against 32-year-old former binman Munro, and the fight was even until the head clash.
The end of the fight sparked distasteful scenes of fighting in the crowd at the Manchester Velodrome where many had come from Leicester to support Munroe, and Quigg had plenty of support who had made the short trip from Bury.
A rematch is expected between the two fighters with even more interest anticipated in the next fight following the initial clash between the two.
Promoter Ricky Hatton said: "It's got be a rematch. Looking at Rendall's cut - it looks a bad 'un. It's an immediate rematch for me."
Quigg commented after the fight: "We both come in to throw and the heads clashed. That's boxing, that's how it goes."
While Munroe said: "I'm frustrated I didn't get to take the belt home to my dad for father's day tomorrow."
