BOLTON boxers will take on opponents from Manchester at a major amateur fight night at the Reebok Stadium next week.
The event, which is being organised by Bolton Council as part of the town’s Olympic legacy programme, will feature separate junior and senior shows.
The afternoon junior event will feature six bouts between boxers aged between 14 and 16, and will be supported by an audience of teachers and pupils to showcase amateur boxing to Bolton schools.
The evening show will have eight bouts preceded by a tribute to former Bolton News sports writer Liam Chronnell, who increased the profile of boxing in Bolton hugely before his sudden death in December, aged 33.
Tables of 10, including a four-course meal, are available for £350 by contacting 07875 660805.
