THE annual Bolton Cricket Development Group U11’s Indoor competition starts tomorrow.

Now in its third year, the competition which takes place at Smithills Sports Centre will feature six teams from the Bolton area and for the first time is supplemented by two teams from outside of Bolton.

The Indoor League sponsored by Monarch Solicitors, will see defending champions Bradshaw Cricket Club grouped with 2013 winners Blackrod Cricket Club, 2014 Runners Up Eagley Cricket Club and new boys Southport Trinity Cricket Club in Pool B.

While Pool A sees regulars Egerton Cricket Club, Heaton Cricket Club, Farnworth Social Circle Cricket Club along with the other new side Bury Cricket Club.

Matches are six-a-side with each side batting for nine overs in a pairs format, ensuring that everyone is part of the action.

The remaining fixtures will take place on March 1 and 8 with the top two in each group progressing to finals day on March 22.

Chris Highton, Lancashire Cricket Board development officer, said: "This competition is an excellent opportunity for our younger players to develop their skills in a competitive yet fun environment and prepare themselves for the upcoming season.

"From this competition in the past we have invited players to join our District winter squad sessions and been given an opportunity to represent Bolton during the summer fixture programme."
