BIG-hitting Bradshaw thumped Fulwood and Broughton by 134 runs as they progressed to the third round of the National Knockout on Sunday.

After beating Garstang in the opening round two weeks ago, The Rigbys outfit were looking to add to their impressive form of late which saw them also defeat Farnworth on Saturday.

John Kerrigan (97 no) fell three short of his century – hitting 12 fours and five sixes – as Bradshaw scored high.

Opener Stuart Hornby set the pace, smashing five fours and five sixes as he rushed to 65 runs, before Anthony Jones chipped in with 28.

But it was Kerrigan who set them on their way to victory as they posted 265 all out.

Richard Turner struck 44 in reply, but Stuart Hornby bowled 4-19 and Tom Liversedge took 3-24 as Fulwood and Broughton – who knocked Horwich RMI out of the first round – were eliminated themselves.

Westhoughton’s weekend went from bad to worse as they suffered their second defeat in as many days at the hands of Prestwich. Danny Naylor and Oliver Newby both struck 44 as the Bolton side got off to a decent start against their Manchester opponents.

Rob Brown (38), Rob Houghton (35) and Charlie Honour (35) all chipped to finish on 227 all out.

But the hosts chased the score down with five wickets to spare thanks to Ali Raza’s 90.

Oliver Newby bowled two wickets and Kieran Edwards, Brown and Houghton all took one each.
