WILL Halton’s seven-wicket haul inspired Egerton to a narrow victory against Horwich.

Paul Stafford (31) and Yahya Khojbalwala (26) were the highest scorers for Egerton as they posted 122-8 after their rain-reduced 30-over innings.

Babar Naeem (3-39) was the most notable bowler but young star Nalisha Patel was also impressive as she took her first two first-team wickets, bowling 2-47.

Horwich searched for a reply but couldn’t get past the magnificent bowling of Halton who bowled 15 overs – which included three maidens – taking seven wickets for only 35 runs to limit the Recreation Ground outfit to 101-6.

Darren Whittle led Kearsley to victory with the bat at home to Eagley.

Whittle (80) and Saeed Anwar Jnr (42) ensured the Springfield Road side stormed to the highest score of the day with 193-6 – averaging over six runs an over.

Eagley’s reply was led by 16-year-old Will Shuttleworth who top-scored with 41 – but the bowling attack of Grant Cordin (4-57) and Naz Ahmed (3-18) was too strong and they dismissed the hosts for 109.

Bradshaw recorded a comfortable seven wicket victory at home to Little Lever.

Zain Abbas opened the scoring for the Victory Road side scoring 25, before Dane Hargreaves, Chris Mann and Adam Carter all chipped in with 22, 20no and 19 respectively to set the hosts a target of 119. Steve Foster did the most damage with the ball posting figures of 6-62.

In reply Bradshaw never looked worried as Tom Liversedge (39), Stuart Hornby (37) and Younis Anwar (30no) batted their way to victory to the loss of only three wickets.
