NALISHA Patel marked her history-making appearance for the Bolton League Under-18s inter-league side with a starring performance.

The Horwich ace became the first female to represent the Bolton League in an inter-league game at any level on Sunday.

And the Lancashire Women player marked the occasion by taking five wickets and two catches as the Bolton League beat the Saddleworth League at Stayley Cricket Club.

It was the Bolton League's second of three group games in the Colts Lancashire Inter-League competition.

They lost the first and must win the last to have a chance of topping their group and going forward to meet the winners of the other group in the final next month.

It was a busy weekend of playing against men for the teenage star who was in the Horwich team that lost to Heaton in the Bolton League the previous day.

Also on Sunday the Bolton League 2nd XI beat the Central Lancashire League in their annual challenge match.
