ASTLEY and Tyldesley captain Jimmy Cutt starred with the ball as his side cruised past Daisy Hill.

Daniel Robinson top-scored for Daisy with 27 but his team-mates failed to cope with the bowling attack of Cutt whose eight-wicket haul for 39 runs had his opponents dismissed for 90. Jordan O'Malley also bowled 2-22 inside five overs.

The reply was spearheaded by Nathan Moore who hit an unbeaten 27 as Astley and Tyldesley breezed to victory with seven wickets to spare.

Lostock smashed their way to over 300 runs as they edged a high-scoring affair against Westleigh.

Paul Busby raced out of the block for Lostock hitting nine fours on his way to 44 runs. Peter Flanagan added 35 and brother David fell seven runs short of his century.

Connor Hicklin finished on 57 not out as his side totalled 305-6 – skipper Jonny Entwistle was the most notable bowler taking 3-39.

Knowing they would have to score their highest total of the season to win, second-bottom Westleigh started well with Paul Keenan (73) and Tom Pemberton (74) both scoring high. Toby Leeds also added 43 but as the overs expired they fell 30 runs short of the target. Rob Holgate did the most damage with the ball bowling 3-73.

Rock-bottom Darcy Lever are still in search of their second win of the season as they were defeated away to Blackrod.

Thusendra de Zoysa (49) and skipper Chris Sanderson (32) scored high as the Vicarage Road side were bowled out for 161. Dominic Gavin impressed with the ball posting figures of 4-36. Ather Abid and Andrew Patel also took two wickets apiece.

Abid scored 42 with the bat as Darcy fell 26 runs short of the target – which was mainly down to the bowling of de Zoysa (3-23) and Joe Speak (3-32).
