BRETT Ernst scored the highest Bolton Association run score of the season as Edgworth cemented their place at the summit of the league table.

The early pace-setters look immovable as their irresistible form of 12 consecutive league wins – with one abandonment in the middle – shows no way of stopping soon.

Blackrod were the unfortunate victims of Ernst's batting dominance as he smashed his way to 153. Nick Kernick (39) and Ashley Williams (37) also scored high as Edgworth posted 285-4.

Thushendra de Zoysa led the reply scoring 81 but the bowling attack of Gareth Williams (4-35) and Rob Bancroft (3-29) had them dismissed for 195.

Last year's champions Flixton are the closest followers but still remain 24 points adrift of top spot after victory against Westleigh.

Luke Perry stole the show as he bowled four victims for 23 runs as the league's new-boys were dismissed for 96.

Perry then turned his hand to the bat and put on a 92-run opening stand with Adrian Holmes, before the latter fell, securing a nine-wicket win.

Neil Tong starred for Bury who sit in third-place after scraping past Walshaw.

Tong's eight-wicket haul dismissed the Alder Forest side for 102 and set them on their way to their third consecutive loss.

Youngster Matt Bowen top-scored with 26 in reply – but Nick Murphy's six-wicket haul had Bury worried near the death.

But up stepped the partnership of Tong and Alex Breckin to see them home with two wickets to spare.

Swinton Moorside picked up a comfortable victory at home to fourth-bottom Golborne.

Mat Norvall (77), Dave Flatley (37), Callum Flynn (35) and Chris Norvall (31) all scored high for the hosts whose steady batting attack led them to a total of 283-7.

In reply Golborne failed to deal with the bowling attack of Rafey Khan (3-39) and Brad Palmer (3-14) who dismissed their visitors for 96.
