IMRAN Mirza starred with both the bat and ball for Heaton as they leapfrogged their opponents Walkden.

Mirza knocked 48 with the bat and the main source of support came from professional Haroon Farhat who hit 54.

But his side were bowled out for 213 with Iqbal Patel bowling 3-33.

Adan Malik launched led the response scoring 82 not out and Ryan Ayres added 58. However, the remainder of the battling line up could not cope with the bowling of Mirza whose eight-wicket haul for 56 runs had Walkden dismissed for 182 – 31 runs short of the target.

Bradshaw's title hopes may well be over after they slipped to defeat against Farnworth Social Circle.

Seventh-placed batsman Chris Barrow hit a staggering 94 runs off 45 balls – which included nine sixes and six fours – for the Piggott Park side who opened the batting.

Rameez Alam (39) and Matthew Parkinson (35) also scored high and along with 36 extras they posted 258 all out.

Tom Liversedge was the pick of the bowlers posting figures of 4-44.

Liversedge turned his hand to the bat and hit 30 but he was the only Bradshaw batsman to score above seven and his side were dismissed for 67 – Dave Mather (5-35) and Barrow (3-8) did the damage with the ball.

Tonge continued their long and painful season with another obliterating defeat at home to Horwich.

The Recreation Ground outfit boasted a total of 239-8 at the end of their innings with professional Babar Naeem scoring 88 and captain David Morris retiring injured on 34 not out. Iain McLellan was the only bowler of note taking 4-79.

When Naeem turned his hand to the ball the hosts collapsed and the professional helped himself to seven wickets for 22 runs – bowling Tonge out for 60.
