DARCY Lever gave themselves another boost in their bid to not finish bottom in the last ever Bolton Association season with an away victory against Standish.

Skipper Nick Fawcett led the way hitting a half-century as his side posted 146-9. Sam Heeley did the most damage with the ball bowling 6-49.

Darcy also beat Standish two weeks ago when the long-time bottom club ended a long run of defeats.

They are the only current Association club who were in the original 10-strong league in its first ever season in 1889 and are determined not to finish bottom in its last season.

Luke Kennedy (64) and Sam Knowles (36 not out) attempted the reply but they were thwarted by the impressive bowling of Dominic Gavin (5-45) and Alex Lee (3-27).

Also in the bottom group are Westleigh, who were unable to follow up last weekends victory against Darcy Lever as they suffered a six-wicket defeat to Daisy Hill.

Naveed Yousuf was the star of the show, first bowling a five-wicket haul for 25 runs to dismiss the hosts for 164, before turning his hand to the bat and striking 49 not out.

Nick Sykes top-scored with 36 as Westleigh posted a total of 164.

The Chilton brothers, Mike and Steve, gave Daisy a good start as they hit 25 and 23 respectively.

Abid Younas added 41 and with Yousaff's 49 Daisy secured the win with six wickets to spare.

Nekoli Parris' century inspired Little Hulton to a comfortable victory away to Golborne.

Johann Brohier (66) and Jake Waterworth (77) put on an 119-run first-wicket stand as the hosts ran up a total of 210-9. Majority of the wickets fell to the bowling of Adam Newton who took 5-21.

With a score of 25-4 Little Hulton never looked like recovering but after Parris was dropped on two he never looked back and hit 102.

The professional built up a formidable partnership with Mo Abid (68*) as they held a 173-run fifth-wicket stand to secure the win with five wickets remaining.
