THIRTEEN-year-old Adam Patel's brilliant 5-2 stole the show as Astley Bridge romped to an eight-wicket victory over Little Hulton.

It was one of six second-team matches to beat the weather with Daisy Hill, Blackrod, Bradshaw and Eagley maintaining their 100 per cent records.

At Little Hulton the hope side elected to bat first but slumped to just 51 as they found little answer to Patel and his fellow bowlers. An unbeaten 26 from Millen Patel ensured an early finish.

Daisy Hill won comfortably at Walkden where the home side struggled to reach 128 batting first.

Only Andrew Coop (40) and Hasnain Altaf (31) made an impression as Chris Chambers led the way for the bowlers with 3-20.

Sam Pendlebury's unbeaten 62, supported by Mike Leeming (37), helped to secure an eight-wicket win for the visitors.

Eagley enjoyed a 198-run win against Standish who put the home side in and regretted it as Eagley hit 319-3.

There were two classy performances with George Howarth (139 not out) and Jordan Lomax (101) racing to centuries.

Standish fell well short of their target, reaching just 121 in reply. Captain Mike Hadfield (54) provided the only real resistance as Tom Mitchell (3/19) and Will Owen (3/14) shared the bulk of the wickets.

Bradshaw battled to a four-wicket victory over Atherton at Higham Park.

Atherton batted first and Michael Tomlinson's 40 provided the bulk of a disappointing 98 all out as Ryan Garner and Ross Dickinson each picked up three wickets.

Bradshaw lost six wickets in reply, but in the end, Jordan Evans' 40 was key to staving off a good fightback.

Blackrod defeated neighbours Adlington by 22 runs in a rain-affected game at Vicarage Road.

Put into bat, the Blackrod top order of Tom Mather, Chris Readey and Paul Wheeler each passed 30 to help them to 186-7 in their 41 overs, with young Zak Green taking 3/37.

The target was revised to 170 in 36 overs, but despite Tom Shovelton scoring 58 and Daryll Hitchen 35, a superb spell of 6-25 from Tony Tipping ensured a home win.

Farnworth SC eased to a 50-run win against Kearsley in another rain-reduced game. FSC won the toss and posted a useful 154-6 in the 32 overs available. Liam Ashworth (44) led the way with all of the top seven reaching double figures as Riaz Khan took three wickets for the visitors.

Despite Jack Pellowe carrying his bat for 51 the visitors could only muster 104 in reply as Andrew Wareing and Jess Bradley each took three wickets.

The other four games were all abandoned.
