EGERTON were the only Bolton club to claim victory in the Greater Manchester Cricket League on Saturday as they recorded a five-wicket win at Glossop.

Opener Gionne Koopman (30) and Oliver Kenyon (67) both scored well as the hosts opened the batting, before wicketkeeper John Stopford chipped in with 32 not out at the death to see the home team post a total of 169-7.

Marcus Pratt starred with the ball with figures of 3-44.

The Blackburn Road side rose to third in the Premier Division table with their response, which was spearheaded by Tom Fairclough.

The right-hander batted through for an unbeaten 57 which, with the help of Sandun Weerakkody's 51, saw Egerton reach the target with the loss of only five wickets.

Meanwhile, Edgworth continue to struggle in the top flight of the GMCL as they suffered a heavy defeat to Denton West.

Brett Ernst opened with 32 runs before Liam Watkinson came in at four and scored 85 not out.

However, following the bright start only skipper Guy Haynes (20) was able to achieve double figures and Edgworth were limited to 195-8.

Stephen Oddy was the only bowler of note, taking 4-24.

In reply, Semila Seyibokwe smashed 105 not out from 77 balls as Denton West cruised to a seven-wicket win.

In the First Division Astley and Tyldesley succumbed to defeat at Dukinfield.

Jordan O'Malley starred with the ball for the visitors and took a five-wicket haul for 68 runs as the hosts were dismissed for 193.

Lewis Riley (47) and Stevie Coulding (39) top-scored with the bat.

In reply the consistent Joel Brockley had a knock of 30 and Paul Bennett scored 35, but Yohan De Silva took five wickets for 32 runs as the Gin Pit outfit were bowled out 26 runs short of the target.
