TEAMS in the East Group of the Bolton League Twenty20 competition group will conclude their matches tomorrow with the two Lever sides looking to make the last eight.

After two matches Kearsley lead with 23 points, followed by Darcy Lever on 13 and Little Lever on 12.

Tonge have yet to record a point, but could still have a bearing on who qualifies from the group.

With the top two teams being eligible for the quarter-finals, Kearsley require just two bonus points at home to Little Lever but a heavy defeat could still leave them in third place.

Little Lever must win and hope they can secure more bonus points than Darcy Lever who entertain Tonge, unless Tonge can prevent Darcy taking any points at all.

Last Friday, Kearsley recorded possibly the highest score in the 40 seasons of T20 cricket in Bolton, smashing Darcy Lever for 246-6.

The opening partnership of 196 between Darren Whittle and Grant Cordin may also be a record.

Remarkably, in the middle of all this Toseef Hanif managed to take five wickets.

Darcy responded with 135-9 and what could be a vital bonus point for reaching 120.

Gareth Hopkinson hit 29 and there were three wickets apiece for Ahmad and Whittle.

There were three wickets apiece for Curtis Anderton and Dave Bath as Little Lever restricted Tonge to 94-9, before Josh Gent hit a rapid 38 as Little Lever won with almost half their overs remaining.

In the North Group, there were two large partnerships at Bradshaw.

Eagley's 191-5 was based around a second-wicket stand of 96 between Agar Salman, who hit 70 from 39 deliveries, and Will Shuttleworth.

The pair then took two wickets each as the home side fell 25 runs short despite a century partnership from Tom Liversedge and Nick Lester.

In the West Group, Horwich made a relatively modest 125-8, with Phil Ingram, Brett Pelser and Phil Cavill all recording scores in the 20s. Joe Speak was the pick of the Blackrod bowlers with 3-20.

Blackrod then responded with 99 all out with Joe Baldwin taking 4-25. The regular fall of wickets meant almost four overs were left at the end.

In the only match to be played on Tuesday, Soyab Taylor's half century was in vain as the North Group match was abandoned at the interval due to heavy rain, with Astley Bridge making 144 against Lostock.
