DESPITE losing to Little Lever last Friday, Kearsley are guaranteed to top the East Section table.

Batting first Little Lever made 148, Adam Carter with 38 and Ayaz Hanif with 26 held the middle order together after a poor start.

They were assisted by 31 extras including 12 penalty runs.

Hanif and Craig Mann then took three wickets apiece to keep Kearsley to 139.

Kearsley lost two early wickets, and a half century partnership between Dave Morris and Chris Baxendale was in vain.

Darcy Lever entertain Tonge tomorrow as their match could not take place due to the weather last week and Darcy must win and obtain a bonus point for scoring 120 or more or taking seven wickets to overtake Little Lever to qualify for the quarter-finals in second place.

In the North Section, in a match reduced to 15 overs again due to the weather, Heaton made 127 against Lostock, professional Humayun Farhat scoring 30 and Adam Halton and Jacob Whittaker 24 each.

Farhat and Halton also contributed with the ball, the former taking 4-21 and the latter 2-7.

At 47-1 Lostock were well placed, but once Jaydyn Simmons was dismissed the remaining batsmen struggled to put any partnerships together and finished 32 runs short.

Walkden raced to 190-1 in the South Section, with professional Aiden Markram hitting a century. Little Hulton were then restricted to 98-8 in their overs. Atherton produced the surprise of the round with victory over Farnworth Social Circle.

There was no play possible in the West Section, with Adlington, Horwich, Westhoughton and Daisy Hill taking five points each. The weather also prevented any play between Daisy Hill and Blackrod on Tuesday evening.

However, play did take place in the North Section on Tuesday, when Eagley recorded their second win in three matches.

Batting first they made 139-9, Asif Bhojani scoring 35 and Will Shuttleworth 40. Irfan Puda was the pick of the Bridge bowlers with 3-19.

Shuttleworth then took 3-18 and Will Owen 4-16 as Bridge were bowled out for 85.
