WELL it appears that one person has taken umbrage to this column...

"Useless" (which he couldn't spell) and "pointless" were adjectives used in his latest rant last week.

He has also decided I'm a bus driver for some reason. Well, I can confidently deny that much.

So this week's offering could be entitled View from the Bus.

Also I must apologise for Golborne being part of the BCL, which is another contentious issue my critic has.

I guess you take the rough with the smooth, however, as I have also had some good feedback from umpires and former players – not that they agree with everything I've written though!

I'll keep the Golborne angle to a minimum this week, suffice to say welcome back to Dale Tyrer after a seven-year spell at Atherton – and a winning one too – if only we can improve his catching!

It is also a pleasure to see Richard Dearden after a long time. Unfortunately, due to the departure of Phil Andrews from Daisy Hill, I was sole scorer when the two teams played on Saturday.

The one thing it does is maintain the concentration span for the whole game. It's surprising how many times I've done games alone and never had a problem – then other times we can't get right between the two of us.

Hopefully Phil will return to the box shortly – he was certainly missed.

Good luck to everyone this week and I'll be back next week when it may be View from the Boat.
