SAM Pendlebury led Daisy Hill to victory over Sutton in the West Lancashire Cricket League Division One last Sunday.

The St Helens side posted 162-8, with Darshan Varsani (2-16) and Chris Charters (2-10) among the wicket-takers for the visitors.

Daisy Hill reached the target with five overs to spare with Pendlebury top-scoring with 40 runs.

Golborne went down by 60 runs at Tarleton. The home side batted first and posted 222-6 from their 40 overs.

Golborne were not up for the challenge apart from David Szostok who scored a fine 67.

In Division Two, Atherton beat Hindley St Peters away.

Chasing 132 all out – David Baines taking 5-24 – Atherton scraped home with two wickets to spare, Jack Welch scoring 25.

Westhoughton continued their winning ways with an almost routine victory over Goose Green at the St George's Oval. Goose Green batted first and were all out for 92, Ryley Walton taking 8-2, Tjase Pindoria 15-3 and Seb Miller an incredible three wickets for no runs off seven balls to mop up the tail end.

Tyrese Sinclair (44) and Jamie Ramwell 25no saw Westhoughton finish on 94-2.
