WITH Horwich RMI’s game at Golborne falling victim to the weather, Bradshaw took full advantage to move top of the Bolton League second team table.

Put in to bat by their hosts Darcy Lever, Bradshaw rattled up an impressive 232-4 with the platform laid by Jake O’Byrne and Jordan Evans, who both scored 82 as they shared a partnership of 139. Young Harry Smethurst bowled well to take 3-29.

Darcy Lever found themselves two down without scoring and never really recovered as Ian Ross helped himself to 5-13 and Evans completed a good day with 4-8 to dismiss them for 61.

Farnworth stay third after a 20-run win against Daisy Hill. Will Berry starred for the villagers with 6-37 but Michael Daley (47) helped take the total up to 172.

Openers Avnish Varsani (63) and Adam Arkwright (42) got the chase off to a great start but Jamie Bohannon (4-41) and Matthew Hicks (3-41) ran through the batting to dismiss them for 152.

Heaton enjoyed a comprehensive win against Little Lever as, having rattled up 230-3 in 30 overs, they dismissed their visitors for just 63 thanks to Robin Isted's 6-20.

Heaton’s imposing score had been built around excellent knocks by Nigel Duxbury (105) and Jake Corrigan (70) as they shared an impressive opening stand of 149.

Blackrod enjoyed an eight-wicket win against Walkden with Andrew Spibey producing an excellent all-round game.

He took 4-44 to help restrict Walkden to 169-9 – despite 48 from Nigel Partington and a quickfire 42 from George McManus.

He then rattled off an unbeaten 88 off 71 balls and along with Charlie Fletcher (39 not out) saw his side to victory.

Adlington, who defeated Standish by six wickets, were indebted to Eddie Haddon who hit an unbeaten 77 after Graham Hardcastle (3-47) had rocked the early order. Standish’s 142-5 had earlier been built around the efforts of Paul Clucas (60) and Paul Hassan (45no).

Lostock finally got off the mark with a 72-run win at Tonge, although their hosts made them work hard for the win. Mohsin Patel (5-38) caused problems throughout and with Tom Gregory's 40 Lostock reached 137.

Lostock’s opening attack of Darren Parr and Ryan Crombie also found the wicket to their liking as they took 5-27 and 4-27 respectively to bowl Tonge out for 65.

Ben Harrison inspired Westhoughton to an eight-wicket win against Astley Bridge with another explosive innings.

The youngster peppered Moss Bank Way as he made 42no off just 15 balls with two fours and five huge sixes. Bridge had never really got going when they batted, with a dogged 23 from Paris Patel the highlight of their 103-9 with Jason Dunning taking 3-18.

Atherton won a 27-over game at Eagley by 25 runs. They first made 126-5 mainly thanks to Jack Welch (43) and Phil Campbell (42no) as Jonathan Birchall took 3-21.

Birchall then took charge with the bat, making 39 but Harry McManus (4-53) helped dismiss them for 101 in reply.

Little Hulton’s disappointing recent run continued with a 106-run defeat at the hands of Kearsley.

Jack Scott carried his bat for Kearsley, making 93no, with George Banks supporting well with an unbeaten 34. Russell Jameson (6-16) then led as they made short work of the reply with only a flurry of runs from number 10 Morris (31) helping them reach 59 in reply.
