TONGE Cricket Club have had a huge response to calls for old and new players to support their 140th anniversary celebration night next week.
The Castle Hill club have had around 100 people contact them for details of next Friday's event which will see former England and Lancashire stars Warren Hegg and Phil DeFreitas and Indian legend Farokh Engineer in attendance.
Hegg and Engineer both played for Tonge and will be conducting question-and-answer sessions on the night which is free to get in.
Paul Schofield, who runs the cricket club, said: "With a week to go until the reunion I've been pleasantly surprised with the feedback.
"I've had contact with people locally, nationally and internationally including from New Zealand, Australia and throughout Europe.
"The guest list is approaching 100. I am looking forward to catching up with friends old and new and I'm sure everybody will have a special evening."
