LITTLE Lever face the biggest examination of their recent revival when they face Farnworth tomorrow.

The Villagers have won their last four league matches after not winning any previously.

Captain Jon Kerrigan puts it down to a return to their all-for-one-and-one-for-all mentality which has been the backbone of the side in recent years.

Their run of wins has lifted them to 13th in the table and in with a strong chance of making the top echelon when the league splits into two divisions next year.

And while they have not beaten a side of the calibre of tomorrow's visitors to Victory Road during their recent run, he can see signs the 2013 champions are on the way back.

"Little Lever thrived on the mentality that if you kicked one of us we all limped but that wasn't there for whatever reason," he said.

"It only reappeared on Saturday at Darcy Lever.

"It felt like a turning point. It was a lot better.

"A few words have been spoken between the players to clear the air. We had a few words just before Saturday's game and you could see the difference."

It has not helped Little Lever that they have not had a regular pro until recently, but Kerrigan does not allow that to hide the team's underachievement.

"We had a difficult start with the pro not turning up and letting us down," he said.

"It's hard work with deputy pros. It helps when you have a pro and he starts performing. It gives everyone a lift.

"But we've not been performing like we should be. This team as individuals are probably better than that team that won the league.

"We've brought in Dave Bath and Craig Naylor and man-for-man we should be a good team, we just need to show it more. Hopefully that's coming.

"Anthony Hilton is rolling back the years. The middle of last year he had a heart attack but he's come back and is committed at top of the order.

"Adam Carter is turning into a real good player and Curtis Anderton is a good player.

"He can win games but he's one who hasn't been as good as he can be. But on Saturday he played with more commitment and desire and won us the game to be fair.

"We had a couple of winnable games called off as well, which could have put us higher. Now we just want to get as high as we can and beat as many teams as we can.

"Farnworth are good but we've had one or two tussles against them even when we are poor.

"I was at Farnworth last Sunday when they played Read in the Lancashire Knockout and I heard one or two of the spectators say it's easy at Little Lever.

"They might have been jesting but we'll use that."
