FROM a Golborne perspective, our tough run continued this week with a four-wicket defeat against Walkden.

Encouragingly, despite only posting 140, we were undone by a combination of a terrific spell of opening bowling and a professional, Aiden Markram, who passed 1,000 runs for the season in the reply.

Things don't get any easier, as this weekend sees us visit league leaders Farnworth Social Circle. It will be a new ground for me and I am, in part, looking forward to seeing a side who are playing so well.

It seems hardly believable there are only six games left already – I can not really work out where has this season gone, it really seems like it has never got going.

With the forecast of a so-called heatwave upon us, let's hope we can all get the rest of the season through to a full finish.

I may get in trouble for mentioning the football on Tuesday so I won't, but my team have won two out of two. I don't think the manager will be around much longer if this carries on.
