FARNWORTH Social Circle wrapped up their title-winning season with a big win at home to Standish.

The visitors, who were playing their last game in the Bolton League before moving to the Palace Shield next season, could not cope with the extra quality of the champions who rattled up 311 runs before dismissing their opponents for 115.

David Tonge scored 61 and Chris Barrow 60 for Social Circle before Dave Mather took 5-54.

Second-placed Walkden finished their impressive season in style with a seven-wicket victory over Adlington.

Captain Jonathan Fowler took 5-35 as the home side restricted Adlington to just 91 all out.

Iain Critchley top scored with 23 coming in at number three, but only one of his team-mates, Steven Rawlinson, managed to get into the teens with 17.

The Harriett Street men did not mess about in their reply, using just 16.4 overs to beat the target, opener Aman Arora scoring 30 and deputy pro Ammar Mahmood 44.

Westhoughton finished third after beating local rivals Daisy Hill by 51 runs.

Pro Qaiser Abbas was outstanding with bat and ball, scoring 69 as Westhoughton posted 166-8 then taking 5-35 as Daisy were dismissed for 115 in which Adnan Raees shone with 64 not out.

Earlier Sam Pendlebury took 5-33 for Daisy.

Darcy Lever climbed three places to sixth bottom with their fifth win of the season away at Astley Bridge.

Darcy posted 200-6, thanks to a superb opening partnership of 143 between Nick Fawcett (81) and Jake Cooper (69) and Dominic Gavin took five wickets as the target proved well out of reach for Bridge who fell 66 runs short.
