HORWICH captain Phil Ingram says he will have no trouble lifting his players for tomorrow’s 40-Over Competition final.

The RMI side never got started against Lostock in the final league game last week when they got beat.

But Ingram says that will not be the case when they take on Farnworth at Heaton in a game that brings the curtain down on the Bolton League season.

“What better way to finish the season that by playing in a cup final," he said.

"The last game was like a non-entity with not a lot of get up and go from the lads.

"But it will be no problem raising them for this game."

The vastly experienced Ingram, one of the best all-rounders in the Bolton League for years, sees tomorrow's game as a great experience for his young side.

"We've basically got half a team of under-18s," he said. "A cup final will be a big thing for them and we're all looking forward to it.

"They play for the inter-league so they are all a good standard."

Farnworth go into the game having lost the biggest club game in the county's club cricket last week when they agonisingly lost the Lancashire Knockout final against Denton West with only three balls remaining.

If and how that will affect them tomorrow could prove pivotal.

"Farnworth are a good side," said Ingram. "They always turn up looking like they're not bothered and then as soon as the game starts they mean business.

"We don't know how Farnworth are going to approach it after losing the Lancashire Knockout final and we won't know until the game starts.

"But it's going to be a tough game, we know that."

The teams will be playing for the Heineken-sponsored Peter Stafford Trophy and starts at 1.30pm.
