ASTLEY and Tyldesley Cricket Club have announced the signing of Nathan McDonnell as their professional for next season.
The all-rounder takes over the role from club stalwart Jimmy Cutt who remains as captain.
McDonnell played for Leyland last season, helping them to the Northern League Division One title.
A&T finished fourth bottom of the Greater Manchester League Division One – the last of the relegation places – last season and will be looking to bounce back into the second tier next year.
Cutt said on the new arrival: “I am really pleased to have been able to secure the services of Nathan for 2017.
"I’m confident he’ll enjoy being part of our group and his addition is a real bonus for our club.
"It has been a busy post-season period and the signing of Nathan, in addition to welcoming Andy Rostron as cricket manager, is a real positive already as we build towards 2017.”
A&T are on the lookout for new senior and junior players of all abilities. Anybody interested can contact Paul Finch on 07887 371168.
