KEARSLEY recorded their sixth consecutive victory on Friday night with a 10-wicket victory.

Chasing Darcy Lever’s 110-8 – a collapse from 69-2 with Jake Cooper scoring 45 – opening batsmen Darren Whittle and Dev Bundella saw Kearsley home.

Also in the East group, Little Lever secured their place in the quarter-final draw, hitting 203-7 against Tonge despite Craig Naylor taking 4-35.

Adil Nisar hit 72 for the Villagers while Tonge’s Tilaksha Malshan scored a half century in their 151-8.

It was all change in the North West group as Lostock’s win against Adlington pushed the former leaders out of the qualifying places.

Lostock made 153-6 after slumping to 34-4 with Rob Holgate, Nick Jeffs and Dave Flanagan sharing more than 100 runs between them.

Adlington were dismissed for 79 with Holgate and Hasnan Abbas taking three wickets each.

Horwich topped the group after a 167-run opening partnership between Phil Ingram and Brett Pelser paved the way for an eventual 218-5 against Blackrod.

Lewis Haydock and Fazil Hassan shared six wickets equally as Blackrod reached 90-8.

Bradshaw recovered from 13-2 to overtake Heaton’s 103, with an unbeaten partnership of 92 between Darcy Cotter and Sachithra Serasinghe.

In the first innings Matt Fray scored 39 and Ross Dickinson took 3-23.

On Tuesday, Astley Bridge made 138-8, Irfan Puda scoring 51 not out and Matt Hargraves 32, but Eagley won with one ball to spare with Agha Salman top scoring with 33.

In the West group Qaiser Abbas’ 4-7 was largely responsible for Atherton only making 78.

Westhoughton proceeded to a seven-wicket win as Jordan Higham hit 41 not out. Golborne, requiring a win and a bonus point, could only muster 119 in response to Daisy Hill’s 158-8. Darshan Versani hit 47 and Mike Chilton scored 33 while Neil Tonge took 4-17 for Daisy.

There was a good all-round performance from Farnworth Social Circle’s Ryan Ayres who took 3-27 and scored 66 not out as his team overtook Little Hulton’s 112 for the loss of three wickets. Dave Tonge had figures of 4-8 in the Little Hulton innings and Fida Hussain scored 40.

Four days later, Farnworth finished on top of the South group after making 189-5 against Walkden – Jon Kerrigan scoring 97 and Immy Mirza 61, with a century partnership between the pair.

Walkden responded with 129 which was just sufficient to secure a qualifying bonus point. Jon Fowler scored 35 and Nakash Qamar took 3-27.

Quarter finals – tomorrow: Kearsley v Lostock, Horwich v Little Lever, Westhoughton v Bradshaw. Tuesday: Farnworth v Walkden.
