THE Bolton Cricket League’s seventh big transfer deal of the winter was completed yesterday when Danny Naylor joined Horwich from Westhoughton.

The batsman is regarded as one of the top amateur players in the league and seen as a major coup for Horwich who are building a strong side for their forthcoming season in the league’s Premier Division.

Naylor starred in last season’s Hamer Cup final in which Westhoughton beat Farnworth Social Circle to lift the trophy for the first time in 13 years, scoring an expert 82 to provide the foundation for victory.

He becomes the third player to join Horwich from another Bolton League Premier Division side this winter, following batsman Tayler-Jay Heyes and wicketkeeper Toby Morgan, both from Walkden.

Naylor’s transfer was also the seventh incoming deal involving Premier Division sides so far in the close season.

The others are: Heyes and Morgan (Walkden to Horwich), Jack Shovelton (Adlington to Bradshaw), Brett Ernst (Edgworth to Bradshaw), William Shuttleworth (Eagley to Farnworth Social Circle) and Ryan Chaisty (Horwich to Kearsley).
