BOLTON cricketing twins Matt and Callum Parkinson went face-to-face today with Matt’s Lancashire coming out on top against Callum’s Leicestershire in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Batting first, hosts Leicestershire were all out for just 172, with 21-year-old spinner Matt the star of the Red Rose bowling attack with 4-30 from his 10 overs.
Fellow former Heaton star Callum scored 20 with the bat, while ex-Farnworth Social Circle all-rounder Josh Bohannon took a catch off Matt's bowling in the Leicestershire innings.
On a day when three young Boltonians started for Lancashire, opener Haseeb Hameed – also formerly of Social Circle – was back in the runs with 55 not out in the reply as the visitors eased to 175-1 in less than 26 overs to seal a nine-wicket triumph.
Spinner Callum bowled six overs for the hosts, returning figures of 0-29.
