BRADSHAW progressed to round four of the National Knockout tournament, at the expense of visitors Prestwich at The Rigbys on Sunday.

Brett Ernst’s men chalked up a 21-run win after setting their visitors from the Greater Manchester Cricket League Premier Division 171 to win.

Batting first, Bradshaw’s innings was led by their young opening batsman Cian Dickinson, who was run out in the 33rd over, one short of his half-century.

The key to Bradshaw setting any kind of defendable target in their 40 overs was a third-wicket stand worth 83 runs between Dickinson and Stuart Hornby, who made 42.

Number eight Jordan Mason hit an unbeaten 22 from 20 balls down the order to push the hosts’ score on and they closed on 170-8.

Ryan Stanbury (2-28) and Qasim Memon (2-31) had the best figures in the Prestwich bowling attack.

Stanbury could not transfer his impressive bowling to his batting, however, as he was the first to fall, Jamie Legg having him caught for 10, with Prestwich on 23.

Tom Liversedge (3-16) then ripped through Prestwich’s top order, dismissing James Wharmby, Lee Dale and Sam Holden to leave the visitors stuttering on 83-4.

The only resistance came from number six batsman Tom Gibson, who was eventually left stranded on 40 as he ran out of partners.

Prestwich lost their last five wickets for 41 runs, with former captain Andy Bradley the last to fall as Ross Dickinson (2-31) had him caught by Ernst to close out the victory.
