BOLTON Cricket League's Lyddon Trophy will have a new look this summer, with 20 clubs from around the area competing in a Twenty20 style competition.
The Competition began in 1977 as the Junilee Trophy, but until this season was run on a knockout basis.
This year, 20 teams have entered and will play in four groups of five teams. The groups have been set up on a geographical basis to cut down on the amount of travelling as all the group matches will be played on a Tuesday or Friday evening.

The majority of the teams are Bolton or Bury based, with ten from the Bolton League, eight from the Bolton Association, and one each from the Central Lancs League and Manchester Association.
Professionals will be allowed to participate this year, but will be forced to retire once passing 50, and will be limited to bowling just four overs.
"Twenty20 is a popular form of cricket at the moment, and we hope it will bring people in," said organiser Ray Taylor.
"Some people cannot afford to give up an entire Saturday or Sunday to watch cricket, so it is ideal for them to come down for a few hours on a weekday night."
The competition begins at 6.15pm on Tuesday when Tonge entertain Darcy Lever.

East: Bury, Darcy Lever, Little Lever, Radcliffe and Tonge.
