A thrashing for A & T

A depleted Astley & Tyldesley cycle speedway side was thrashed by Hull in a Northern League match at the Hessle Raceway.

Remi Burchardt and Darek Kurkowski both won races for A & T, but Hull won ten of the eighteen races by the maximum scoreline to run out 108-64 winners.

It was a similar story in the Combination (2nd team) match, as Hull easily took the points with a 91-56 win.

A & T put in a better showing in the second Round of the Manchester League Grand Prix series at Bury on Wednesday.

Remi Burchardt raced unbeaten in the Division 1 (senior) match, with Dariusz Pilas losing only once, as A & T took a second successive win in this series.

Final score was: A & T 54 Bury 40 Stockport 15.

The Division 2 (junior) match was won by Stockport, with A & T pipping Bury for second place.

Final score was: Stockport 72 A & T 61 Bury 60.
