Winter Rounders: The Farnworth League saw a change at the top as Elton Vale recorded a seven-run win over BYP Ladies A, who have seen their title hopes fade after two narrow defeats to their closest rivals in consecutive weeks.
Elton took a nine-run lead in the first innings (77-68) and, despite being held to 76 in the second innings, they had done enough to win the game by seven and move to the top on the table.
The top two both have an open date in the last four weeks of the season, but unless they slip up in their remaining matches, The Grapes, who were without a game on Sunday, are destined to miss out on honours.

Applejax missed the chance to go third when they lost by six runs to Little Lever AFC. Although they were 19 behind after the first innings, Little Lever coped better with the blustery conditions in the second innings and hit eight rounders as their opponents made mistakes in the field.
Daves Minibus and Capital started the day on 15 points each and produced a contest worthy of two evenly matched sides. Capital won the first innings by six runs but lost the second by four, resulting in a two-run victory.
Little Lever CC lost by 38 to the nine-strong Blades team.
Wallys Eleven are still seeking their first win - but they are getting closer. Trailing by 12 runs after the first innings against BYP Ladies B, Wallys raised their game in the second innings but fell just short, losing by four.
