BSF Winter Rounders

BYP Ladies A regained top spot in the Farnworth Winter Rounders League when Elton Vale had an open date because Adlington had withdrawn. However, after a couple of narrow defeats in recent weeks, they only just managed to grab the points with a narrow four run win over Applejax in an excellent match.

Wallys Eleven were delighted at the end of their game with Blades Barbers, because their 30-run win was their first victory in two seasons of trying.

The Grapes consolidated their third place in the table with an 11-run win over Daves Minibus, who were 13 behind on the first innings, but fought hard to edge the second innings.

Struggling Little Lever CC put in an excellent first innings performance against the nine experienced players of Capital, and were just 20 runs behind at the break.

However, Capital raised their game in the second innings and hit eight rounders in the second innings as the cricket club side struggled to cope with the gusty conditions and Capital ran out winners by 74 runs.

Little Lever AFC and BYP Ladies B started the day level with Blades Barbers on 13 points, but Little Lever AFC turned on the style and were able to declare against BYP Ladies B and move clear of the other two.
