Rupert and Darcy go joint top of the league

RUPERT Ladies A and Darcy Lever CC sit joint top of Section A with six points each after winning all three of their opening matches.

Rupert beat Little Lever by an innings with Kerry Anderton, 29, and Gail Nicholson, 20, top scoring.

Darcy also won their match with an innings to spare against Walkden CC A. Helen Hanlon, 26, and Vickie Hill, 16, hit top form for Darcy.

Phase 2 Bedrooms held on to the top spot in B Section, winning by just two points against Widdows Mason.

Eagley CC and Party Perfections were equal at the halfway point of their match in Section F with 33 runs each. Eagley added a further 43 but lost 12 runs to penalties. Party then scored 45 to win the match 78-76.

Serridge 11 sit at the bottom of J Section but came within two runs of beating joint-top team Dunscar Bridge Ladies. Serridge lost seven players for no score in the second innings. Lisa Riley and Angela Drinnan went on to score 30 of the total 41, but it was not quite enough to stop Dunscar's 75-73 win.

Wallys Eleven continue to win games after promotion into Section N. They beat Bolton Ukrainian Club 115-108.

The Matchwinners' Cup competition first round takes place on Sunday, May 11, starting at at 2.30pm.
