LITTLE Lever enjoyed a convincing win against fellow A Section team Aspull Ladies in the Chadwick Cup.
Little Lever led 98-61 after the first innings, then scored a further 60 to Aspull's 50 to win 158-111 and a place in the second round. Julie Bluer and Nancy McNeil were Lever's joint top scorers with 30 runs each.
Fox & Stork sit top of Section E but could not manage a win against Section D Redgate Ladies. Trailing 75-87 at the interval Redgate scored 148 to Fox & Stork's 61 in the second innings to take the match 218-148. Redgate's top scorers were Julie Bolger 42, Salma Adam 36 and Jilly Fairhurst 31.
Section I team Freedom Ladies beat Section G leaders Capital Ladies 217-166 in the Blackburn Shield, Angela Bennett with 36 and Kelly Amphlet with 30 were Freedom's highest scorers.
Oracle Ladies are struggling in Section L but managed to defeat second placed Anderton in the Pike Shield. Leading by 59 runs at half time Oracle held on to win the match 263-224, top scorers for Oracle were Wendy Pilling 44 and Val Roberts 49.
HiQ Fabs have won all three league matches in Section N and progressed to the next round of the Horwich Shield with an innings defeat of JJs, Justine Connan scored 54 in HiQ 119(i)-101 win.
St Teresas became the first team to progress to the Second Round of The Matchwinners with a 249-195 win against The Grapes D.
Junior Interleague practices will be held at Darcy Lever CC on Sunday, May 25, 1-3pm; Eagley CC on Friday, May 30, 6.30-8pm and Barlow Park(top pitch) on Saturday, June 7, 1-3 pm.
