THE Centurions travel up the M6 to take on Whitehaven on Sunday knowing a win is paramount if they are to kick-start their season.
Languishing in eighth place, Leigh have slipped down the pecking order in recent weeks and fell to a 40-12 defeat to Gateshead in their last outing.
One player looking for a big performance will be young winger Nick Stanton, who this week agreed a new contract with the club alongside fellow threequarter Steve Maden.
He said: “I was glad to re-sign. I’ve enjoyed it this year and, with a few more signings, I think it will be a good season next year.”
The former Wigan player has so far notched three tries and two goals in 11 games since joining the club at the start of the year.
Leigh also go into the match having bolstered their squad with the loan signing of Tom Hemingway from Huddersfield Giants. The 22-year-old trained with his new team on Thursday night.
