Noble signs on again for Warriors

Wigan coach Brian Noble has agreed a new deal which will keep him at the JJB Stadium for the foreseeable future.

Noble, the former Bradford and Great Britain Coach and Captain joined Wigan Warriors in April 2006 and saved the club from relegation in his first season in charge.

In 2007, he guided the Warriors to within 80 minutes of a Grand Final appearance and took them to the Challenge Cup semi-final.

A medium-term contract has now been signed which keeps Noble at Wigan for at least the next 18 months with a further year beyond that by mutual agreement.

Wigan chairman and owner Ian Lenagan said: "I am pleased at the signing of a new contract with Brian Noble, consistent with our view that stability is an essential part of rebuilding Wigan in the medium-term.

"Brian and I shook hands on a deal two weeks ago following five months of working together and planning for Wigan's future squad.

"We completed the formalities over the weekend and felt we should announce quickly against a background of yet more media speculation."

"Brian is an excellent professional and one of the most successful coaches in Super League history. The work he has done over the past two years has strengthened immensely the Wigan club's organisation and standards.

"Joe Lydon and I look forward to working with Brian throughout this season and the next two to capitalise on that base, to build a future succession and to bring the same success to Wigan that Brian has achieved elsewhere."

Noble said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Wigan and particularly the last few months of planning for the future but my job is only part done.

"I am delighted to have signed this new deal and look forward to delivering that future to the marvellous Wigan fans."
