Bolton 0 Trafford MV 33 BOLTON lost ground on the leading pack in North Lancs One to suffer their second disappointing result in a fortnight.
Like Burnley the week before, an even contest had been predicted. But Bolton were unable to finish their scoring opportunities, leaving Trafford to pick up the pieces and claim the match.
They must now try and get back on track in next week's game at Littleborough, one of the division's struggling sides.
The second team lost out in a dour, niggly affair against West Park St Helens.
They took the lead through an early penalty from Paul.
But their early good work was undone after prop, Jon-Paul Hardman's rush of blood to the head. He was sin-binned for punching, which led indirectly to West Park's only try of the game.
The second half continued in a tight manner with no further tries scored. The only points added to the scorebaord came from an exchange of penalties and the game ended 8-6.
The third team lost 16-11 at Pendle, and there was more disappointment for the fourths as they crashed 55-22 at Kirkby Lonsdale.
A side of only 11 players travelled to Merseyside, and the tries came from Harwood, Bridge and Keogh.
The under-14s earned a narrow victory against Bury. They won the game 15-10 with tries from Ed Holmes, Ollie Parkinson and Richard Sanders.
Holmes took the man of the match award, with Yousuf Sidat winning tacker of the match.
The Under-13s beat Waterloo 12-10 with the first try from debutant, Richard Gallagher.
Matthew Robinson added another before the break, but Waterloo picked themselves up and hauled the deficit back to two points heading into the final few minutes.
Waterloo earned a kickable penalty in the final minute, but to Bolton's joy, it drifted wide of the posts.
