Bolton 3rd 40 Fleetwood 8
BOLTON pushed the men from the Fylde deeper into relegation trouble with a convincing win.
The hosts, who have been beaten only once since September, got off to a flying start with tries from Loyd Green and Ryan Wignall which gave Bolton a 14-0 lead.
It then settled down into a midfield battle and Fleetwood clawed their way back into the game with a penalty before half time.
The visitors did all of pressing after the interval, but could not penetrate Bolton's back line.
Then the Bolton backs galvanised themselves before Martin Plimmer ran through four Fleetwood backs before releasing Stuart Macdonald who scored under the posts.
As Fleetwood threw caution to the wind, Simon Walsh took full advantage, racing the full length of the pitch to touchdown under the sticks.
Bolton continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over before a defensive howler gave Fleetwood the chance make the score 40-8.
On Saturday, Bolton travel to Kirkby Lonsdale, who are level on points with Bolton.
Bolton 4ths also got in on the act with a 58-21 win over Tyldesley's fourth string, which ended up as a 12-a-side affair due to a shortage of players.
The visitors opened the scoring with a try from Cliff, although the conversion was missed.
The hosts then took the lead with a converted try and stretched their advantage to 14-5 straight from the kick off. This served as a wake-up call for Bolton and Keogh replied with a try before Clarke added the extras.
Robinson then completed a fine Bolton rolling maul to put his side into the lead and another Cliff score gave Bolton a 22-14 advantage. Another disastrous kick off for Bolton resulted in another converted try for Tyldesley, but they recovered their composure to lead 27-21 at half time.
Bolton shuffled their pack and it reaped rewards when Cliff completed a hat-trick of tries and Clarke converted.
Tyldesley tried manfully to get back into the game, but they were up against a determined defence.
As the game wore on, the power of the Bolton pack began to tell and Robinson went over again before Keogh converted.
Cliff got his fourth score and Keogh repeated his conversion to make it 48-21 before two more tries made it a convincing win.
Bolton 1st went down 22-10 at home to Eccles, but Bolton 2nd beat their second-string 19-3.
Bolton Colts beat neighbours Bury 32-10 and Bolton U13s lost 7-0 to their Blackburn rivals.
