Bolton third team host Liverpool St Helens thirds on Saturday in the semi-finals of the Halbro Shield.
The Halbro Cup competitions allow the teams below the first team from each club to compete in four tiers of tournament from the Cup the Plate.
For Bolton's third string to reach the latter stages of the Shield represents a huge achievement.
The winners will take on either Heaton Moor second team or Sefton thirds in the final on May 3 at Blackburn.
