Bolton 26 Bay Horse 24
BOLTON RUFC sealed a place in the semi-finals of the Lancashire Plate after a hard-fought 26-24 victory over Bay Horse.
Two tries each from Andy Leigh and Joe Baker were just enough, but the home side made hard work of their victory over a talented invitational side who made up for a lack of cohesion with impressive quality.
Ahead 14-5 at half time, Bolton seemed to ease up but were clinical whenever they got near the visitors' line.
Their best try came from full-back Baker, who rounded off some good play to score in the corner.

Bolton's under-14s rounded off their season with a thrilling 14-12 victory over Bury.
Two closely fought previous encounters had gone Bolton's way but they were strongly contested and played at home so the stage was set for an even match. A powerful unconverted drive by Alex Ault put Bolton 5-0 up at the break.
Ollie Parkinson broke down the right wing for a try which was converted by Richard Sanders to put Bolton 12-0 ahead.
Five minutes later Bury's pressure paid off and they drove over the line from close in to score.
Bury scored again from a quickly-taken penalty in the final seconds. It was unconverted and the final whistle sounded shortly after.
The man of the match was Richard Sanders who was strong in attack and controlled in defence, managing to drift and drive out one Bury attack after another.
The tackler of the match was Ellis Waugh who made the tackles count on the wing when needed.
