LIVERPOOL’S Spice Boys cream suits in 1996 will forever go down in history for being the ultimate cup final outfit but Little Hulton Under-9s looked the part in their Bolton News sponsored hoodies for the big final occasion.

Last year, The Bolton News launched the £500 sports sponsorship scheme in which the lucky winners would receive the cash for kits and equipment.

The Little Hulton youngsters along with Eagley FC U9s were the two names pulled out of the hat and they won the money.

Organiser Stephanie Stanley admitted the kits have been a big hit with the young cricketers.

She said: “We are really grateful to The Bolton News for giving us that money.

“The kids love them and on the pitch the players have done so well this year.

“The u9s, u11s and u13s have all progressed so far.

“In particular the U9s qualified for the Bolton Association East v West league final and that will also be against Winton.

“It will be a bit of a grudge match and we will be wanting to gain revenge. “The money has been great as we bought the hoodies, hats and equipment.

“We also bought wicket-keeping gloves and bats for the players who don’t own them.

“We have had quite a few players joining the club this season so the money has helped offer them the equipment to play in a safe environment.

“It also means we can educate them to play cricket safely.”
