BOLTON-based cycling team, Team Chronomaster are workign hard in their winter training getting ready for the 2015 racing season.

Winter training usually starts off with slow casual weekend rides to recover from the hard fought 2014 season.

The pace slowly picks up just after Christmas with January being full on, hard race training in the harsh winter months, toughening up and getting ready for the first races around March.

Team Chronomaster have recruited two new riders in order to strengthen their squad for the next season.

The new recruits are Stephen Feeney and Paul Beech.

They are cyclists who regularly train with the rest of the squad so are already well known by the team and on the racing circuit.

Neil Wood, who is the owner of Chronomaster Ltd, and the lead sponsor of Team Chronomaster is delighted to have them on board and is confident that their contribution to the squad will be of great help in getting a high ranking for the team in the coming race seasons.

"Stephen Feeney is a very experienced cyclist and has been racing since the age of 14 years.

"He has had many successes in cycling beginning by winning the North Lancs 10 mile whilst still a schoolboy and breaking the magical hour over a 25 mile time trial, before tri bars were used, and on a steel frame Raleigh road bike, and in the process winning the overall race.

"Further road racing success led Stephen to getting a category one licence and then onto an Elite category, which is a professional standard.

" Elite category can only be gained by amassing points for top 10 wins in road races, and it’s a process of dedication and commitment to maintain the licence by consistently winning points in races and was ranked in the top 30 in British Cycling rankings. Stephens experience and strength will be a big contribution for the team’s success

"Paul Beech is not as experienced a cyclist as Stephen, but no less talented.

" He played squash for 15 years for a number of clubs in the North West and represented the clubs in North West leagues from the lower divisions in the early days to the top league in the North West.

"Following a knee injury at squash he took up cycling to lose weight and participate in a sport with low joint impact, and instantly loved it, and got hooked on cycling.

"Following continued improvement Paul entered a number of races and saw his times getting better and was frequently finishing in the leading bunch. Representing Lancashire Road Club, he managed to gain a number of top ten finishes and moved up to category three. He is a strong and committed rider and will have a good impact for the team in the seasons to come."
