TEENAGER Josh Fallows starred for Edgworth as they continued their fight for top spot with a 54-run victory over Daisy Hill.

Opener Simon Lord hit six fours and two sixes on his way to 58 and Brett Ernst added 46.

Fallows, aged 17, then scored 37 after coming in at fifth in the order and David Gornall chipped in with 35 at sixth as Edgworth racked up 241-6.

Naveed Yousuf was the most notable bowler for Daisy Hill, taking 3-56.

The St. James Street side, who are still searching for their first win this season, launched their reply through Yousuf, whose 80 included 12 fours and one six.

Steven Chilton came in at sixth to finish 51 not out but the day belonged to young Fallows, who bowled brilliantly to take five wickets for 37 runs with two maidens as Daisy were restricted to 187 all out.

Will Driver’s six-wicket haul ensured Winton secured a five-wicket win at Adlington.

Simon Trim scored 50 and Mark Halliwell finished on 21no as the hosts were bowled out for 130 courtesy of Driver’s 6-38.

Openers Kyle Humphreys (40) and Andrew Walker (44) built a strong platform for Winton's reply.

They progressed to 103-3 and while Jack Shovelton's 3-14 provide a late scare Winton ran out clear winners.

Luke Perry’s century for Flixton against Golborne ensured his side recorded their third win of the season.

Perry’s 121, along with Adrian Holmes’ 69, helped last year’s champions to a healthy total of 279-4.

Nasir Mehmood struck 60 in reply but South African Prenelan Subrayen bowled 5-37 to halt the fightback and bowl Golborne out for 215.

Jordan O’Malley’s seven-wicket haul ensured Astley and Tyldesley continued their 100 per cent record with a three-wicket win at home to title rivals Bury.

Mumtaz Mirza (82) and Sean Gibson (54) led with the bat for the visitors who posted 201 all out – with O’Malley taking 7-51, including four maidens.

In reply, Hemant Patel struck 69 as the hosts reached their total with three wickets to spare – Neil Tong the most notable bowler for Bury, taking 4-55.

Worsley recorded a five-wicket win over Darcy Lever.

James Hill scored 38no and Ather Abid added 36 as Schaughn Van Greunen (4-79) and Mike Gould (3-35) combined well to help bowl out Darcy Lever for 190.

Paul Smith (65) and Michael Old (50) led the reply to finish on 193-5, despite the best efforts of Abid (2-34) and Dominic Gavin (2-46).

Lostock recorded a shock four-wicket victory over Little Hulton.

Nekoli Parris (47) hit seven fours as he just fell three short of his half-century and Little Hulton were dismissed for 156, which was mainly thanks to the bowling of David Flanagan (5-54) and Robert Holgate (3-29).

But the day belonged to Matthew Leach who led the reply with the bat striking 86, which included 11 fours and two sixes, as Lostock passed their target with four wickets to spare.

Parris was the only bowler of note for Little Hulton, taking 3-54.

Big-hitting Walshaw were the top scorers of the day as they defeated Westleigh by 90 runs.

Darren Foy (58), Nick Murphy (63no) and Dawayne Sealy (53) all made half-century’s in an impressive team display with the bat.

Danny Hornby (45), Jack McClung (31) and Gavin Nicholl (32) were also amongst the runs as Walshaw posted 326-8.

Westleigh bowler Robert Entwistle did his best to attempt to keep the scores down, taking 4-54.

Nick Sykes (45) and Toby Leeds (40) went on the attack for Westleigh, who are still looking for their first win since joining the Bolton Association this term, but they ran out of balls and finished on 236-9, with Nicholl bowling 4-75.

Blackrod suffered their first defeat of the season away to Atherton.

Thusendra de Zoysa scored 40 as the visitors opened the batting and Chris Sanderson and Chris Readey both made 24.

Jamar Griffith (4-28) and Harry McManus (3-28) did the damage with the ball limiting, Blackrod to 160-8.

Griffith then turned his hand to the bat to score 48, with Matt Gallagher (40) and Paul Walsh (24no) pushing the hosts over the line to finish on 161-7.

Joe Speak returned the best bowling figures for Blackrod, taking 4-45, while Simon Ashworth took 2-42.

Sam Heeley starred with bat and ball but was unable to stop Standish slipping to a three-wicket defeat against Swinton Moorside.

Heeley smashed 76 and Luke Kennedy added 39 as the hosts posted 204-8.

Matthew Norvall bowled 5-83 and David Flatley took 3-22.

James Wade (91no) fell nine runs short of his century as he led the Swinton reply, and Jamie McDougall scored 47 as his side wrapped up the win, despite Heeley’s best bowling efforts of 3-73.
