TAMIR Cohen was sent off as Wanderers never recovered from a nightmare start in a heavy defeat against Manchester City in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North at Leyland’s County Ground on Tuesday night.

Striker David Ball caught Alan Cork’s side cold after just 17 seconds to sweep home Karl Moore’s cross before a Bolton player had even touched the ball.

Second-half goals from James Poole, Valeri Bojinov and an Ian Daly brace, either side of Robert Sissons’ consolation, ensured the reserves have now gone six games without a win.

The misery was completed when Cohen was given his marching orders with nine minutes to go after picking up his second yellow card in the space of five minutes.

Ball’s early goal put Wanderers on the back foot from the kick off but the hosts should have been level on 40 minutes when Danny Ward fluffed a great chance from Cohen’s centre.

City took control after half time and Poole added a second on 61 minutes before Bojinov swept home on 74 minutes.

Substitute Daly converted a 77th-minute spot kick after he had been tripped by Rhys Bennett.

Sissons pulled one back with five minutes remaining but City had the last word when Daly scored in injury time.
