ONLY Hilton B of the top three teams played this week and they scraped a 5-4 victory over Burning Desire A, winning the final set.
The win gives them a three point advantage over Hilton A in the race for the runners-up spot in the Premier Division, which Ramsbottom A have already won.
Little Lever A scored maximum points at bottom team Heaton A, and Wharton ran out 8-1 winners over Burning Desire B.

No change at the top of Division One where Heaton B lead Nomads A by seven points with two matches remaining. Hilton D came out on top against their C team with a 5-4 win, as did Tonge B at Ramsbottom thanks to the three wins by Paul Brandwood. Dave Holden trebled for Nomads B who beat bottom team Little Lever D 7-2.
The two top teams in Division Two continued their winning ways. Leaders Heaton D winning 8-1 at Meadow Hill, and Heaton E taking maximum points from Heaton F. Gill Marsden scored an important treble for Hilton H at Hilton F, supported by two wins by Craig Rushton and one by Brian Young, they won 6-3 which lifted them off the bottom of the table. Ladybridge B drop to bottom place after losing 5-4 at Hilton E with Jim Bolton unbeaten for the winners. Alan Bradshaw three wins and two apiece by Gary Hilton and Barry Walsh gave Hilton G a 7-2 win over Heaton C.
Ramsbottom C consolidated their top place in Division Three with a 7-2 win at Tonge C who are in third. The win featured a treble by Joe Walk and two each from Martin Ormsby and Derek Edwards. Withins B in second spot won 6-3 at BEN B with three wins by Stuart Wallis two by Debbie Wilson and one by Liam McGreavy. David Yates trebled for Irlam who were beaten 6-3 by Hilton I. Hilton followed with a 7-2 win at Walkden Meths and a 6-3 win at St Thomas, which included trebles by Brian Carter in both matches.
Jim Eardley was unbeaten for Hilton J who won 6-3 at Farnworth, and Walkden beat a two man Meadow Hill team 6-3.
Ladybridge C are the new leaders of Division Four after winning 7-2 at Heaton H and 8-1 at Hilton N, which gives them a 12 point lead on previous top team Monton BC. The wins featured trebles by Ian Gragory at Heaton and Robin Llewellyn at Hilton. Hilton M in third place scored maximum points against the Lads Club. St Paul's Peel won 6-3 against a two man Little Lever team and Eugene Mutebwa won three sets for Brass who lost 6-3 at Hilton L.Teams are reminded that they need to be playing outstanding games as soon as possible.
