They were trailing 2-0 after a quarter of an hour but battled back with goals by Liam Stewart (two) and Sean Rothwell bagged the winner.

Bolton County manager Mark Ormrod was unhappy with two controversial penalty decisions against them in a 5-3 defeat to Poulton.

But he was staying upbeat that the team can plug the gaps at the back and results will come.

Adam Farnworth (two) and Curtis Monson was on target for County but they will be looking to pick up result against fellow strugglers GSK Ulverston next week.

Also struggling are Bolton’s Premier West Lancashire club Eagley as they prop up the table after a 5-1 defeat to Crookland Casuals.

Manager Simon Whaley admits the scoreline did not do the game justice.

He said: “I felt we dominated the first half but their first goal was a worldie and I don’t think the lad would be able to do it again.

“I thought the lads did fantastic but we were caught out in our defensive positioning.

“We created enough chances and when we were chasing the game they scored more goals.

“We just have to keep the confidence levels up that we can get out of this.”Jack Horan was on target for Eagley.
