A GAZ Whiteside double and a goal from Darren Ashworth fired Farnworth United to a 3-2 win at Hulton Wanderers that stretched their lead at the top of Division One to six points.
Second-placed Morris Dancers were in Division One Cup action, winning by the same scoreline at home to D Havilland, while Newbury also won 3-2 in the cup, at home to bottom club Mosesgate.
In Division Two, leaders Great Lever Wanderers increased their advantage to four points over Brindley Arms, who lost 2-1 at Rumworth Hall in the cup.
Astley Bridge and Deane Athletic also made it through to the next round of the cup, while Greyhound edged an eight-goal thriller in the league, beating Manny Road 5-3 thanks to two goals from Mike Goddard and one apiece from John Powell, Liam Blakely and Jason Trafford.
