BEN Amos insists his pre-season preparations have not been unduly affected by the departure of goalkeeping coach Lee Turner.

The Wanderers number one has tried to keep his focus despite uncertainty over the coaching post over the last fortnight.

Turner returns to the Macron Stadium with Charlton Athletic this evening, while Tony Warner will continue as his interim replacement.

Amos is keen to see the situation resolved.

“It is a personal relationship and you do strike up a routine and get to know how each other works,” he told The Bolton News.

“You go in every day and know what to expect from each other.

“It probably is a bigger change than it might seem from the outside, but it’s nothing I can’t deal with and I always welcome fresh ideas from other people.”

Neil Lennon said he would consult with Amos before making an official decision but, as yet, the former Manchester United man has been tied up preparing for a heavy schedule where he has started each of the club’s six games so far.

“I’ve not had any special discussion with the manager about who could come in or who is staying, I’ve just been trying to get myself sorted for the season first,” he said.

“I have spoken with Tony (Warner) about what I need. There have been two games a week at the moment so there hasn’t been loads of training, it has been more focused around the matches.

“It has been fine, though, and hopefully we can get sorted before the start of the season.”
